Routine check-in with a client last month. Website tweaks. Minor updates. The kind of call you half-pay attention to.

At some point I asked, "Have you ever thought about setting up your own digital practice?"

Wasn't trying to be strategic. It just seemed obvious from what they'd been saying.

I'd love to say I asked it because I'm a great listener. More likely I was just tired of talking about padding.
